UPS Steps Up its Game at IMTS 2016 with More On-site Services

There can be a lot of stress associated with the logistics of transporting items to or from McCormick Place for IMTS. For this year’s show, UPS and Coyote Logistics have gone to great lengths to ensure the safety of all deliveries, no matter the size, shape or special accommodations required.

In many ways, UPS’ approach to logistics this year is revolutionary in comparison to its partnership with IMTS in 2014. Rather than its traditional booths, the company has installed three logistics centers staffed by UPS representatives to help attendees ship small loads and samples acquired at the show back home. To ensure safe delivery, UPS and Coyote will arrange a variety of truckload services, including temperature-controlled, expedited, hazmat, and open-deck transport.

Purchased by UPS in August 2015, the logistics company has been booking and arranging freight for this year’s show, and its personnel are available at on-site service centers for the duration. In fact, because Coyote is headquartered in Chicago, the company says it is sending extra employees to IMTS if necessary to help shipping run efficiently. Senior Operations Manager Maggie Neill says there are “no excuses” when it comes to shipping management.

Spread out across McCormick Place for easy access from all halls and concourses, the three UPS IMTS Logistics Centers are located in the East Hall at Booth E-4801, South Hall at Booth S-8501 and West Concourse on Level 3 (next to Registration). Representatives of both UPS and Coyote Logistics will also be available in the Exhibitor Service Centers.
