In the front concourse of the North Building, the Smart Manufacturing Hub is set up to provide learning opportunities in the range of technologies influenced by smart manufacturing. Smart manufacturing is a technology-driven approach that utilizes Internet-connected machinery to monitor the production process. The goal is to identify opportunities for automating operations and use data analytics to improve manufacturing performance.
The Smart Manufacturing Hub, produced by SME and AMT – The Association For Manufacturing Technology, features a series of dedicated kiosks with individual presentations hosted by industry sponsors. The presentations run every hour of the show and cover the array of technologies within the umbrella of smart manufacturing, including additive manufacturing, Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT), machine monitoring and automation. Sponsors include EOS, Balluff, Protolabs, Sandvik, Microsoft, Autodesk, Memex, Acieta, VKSapp and HP.
