Getting Finished Parts Out

IMTS exhibitor Lexair is showing its automatic parts unloader for use on the subspindle of a turning center.

The bar feeder is probably one of the most commonly-applied automation devices used in machine shops. They are applicable to both turning centers and machining centers.

Lexair shows the purpose of this automation device with its introduction of the Pro 80-1200. It is a finished-part unloader that attaches to the subspindle on a turning center and allows for automatic ejection of parts from the machine’s workzone. It does this in a controlled and safe manner. For delicate parts, nylon liners prevent surface scarring.

The unloader is manufactured for Lexair by Breuning IRCO, a leading European material handling device maker. The Pro 80-1200 is designed to handle finished solid or tubing parts with a maximum diameter of 3.15 inches (80 mm) and lengths up to 48 inches (1.2 m).

The unload extraction rod is equipped with either an ID or OD collet to handle a variety of parts. An adjustable parts accumulator stores finished parts in a 40-inch (1-m) deep magazine.

The unit is programmable to gently and quickly unload parts in a controlled manner. It shifts axially for changing spindle liners and is designed for use on new or retrofitted to existing machines.
